Maison Alivon Éditions has signed a collaboration filled with meaning and poetry as part of the Toulon Design Parade, in collaboration with Marisol Santana and Emily Chakhtakhtinsky, winners of the Prix Mobilier National de la Villa Noailles.

Lou Cabanoun is a dry stone hive-hut. A sculptural installation that engages a connection between the natural universe and the mind. Nestled at the bottom of the garden, beyond the wild grasses and
the prickly pears, Lou Cabanoun brings together bees and humans in a refuge space.
This living space is an ecological experience. It questions the livability of the Mediterranean territory in the face of the current climatic challenge. Formally inspired by the Provençal apiés, Lou Cabanoun pays homage to the Provençal black bee, whose population, although vital to our species, is decreasing year after year. To create this sanctuary, Lou Cabanoun refers to the Provençal vernacular construction technique of dry stone. The hut, through its architecture as well as its materiality, honors the local rural tradition. Its shape is an interpretation of dry stone huts and restanques, constructions that accompany nature by promoting the flow of water. Within this refuge, the elements of the Mediterranean ecosystem are sublimated and sanctified. This space, by taking up the universal codes of protection, speaks to us of care, of the attention paid to the cycles of life.

Placed in the center of the Enfumadou basin, the Bouquet d’Abeilles is a piece created by Maison Alivon Éditions. Conceived as a unique piece of wonder, the Bouquet d’Abeilles lets a few stylized bees flutter. The bees then mingle with the soft smoke escaping from the Enfumadou, lulled by the breeze.

The installation was exhibited until November 5, 2023 at the Ancien Évêché, 69 Cours Lafayette, 83000 Toulon.
