Lou Cabanoun, Toulon Design Festival 2023

For the Toulon 2023 Design Parade, Emily Chakhtakhtinsky and Marisol Santana called on Marion Saussier for their Lou Cabanoun project, winner of the Prix Mobilier National.

A dry stone hive, Lou Cabanoun is a sculptural installation that creates a connection between the natural world and the mind. Nestling at the bottom of the garden, beyond the wild grass and prickly pear trees, Lou Cabanoun brings bees and humans together in a space of refuge.

Marion Saussier has created a “Bouquet d’Abeilles” in bronze, floating in the breeze of the South of France.

Exceptional tableware with Atelier George

Atelier George and Marion Saussier came up with the idea of bringing their materials together to create pieces of tableware that would sublimate the memories of Maison Alivon’s workshops through the use of glass.

Cast and mouth-blown by Atelier George, this series of objects contains at its heart a fragment of Maison Alivon frozen in glass, which is revealed sometimes in the form of an orangeade set, sometimes in an exceptional spirits service.

Pépite mirror x Studio Nosqua

Presented at the Maison et Objet show in January 2024, the nugget mirror is a veritable wall jewel, bringing together the glassmaking expertise of Studio Nosqua and a bronze nugget, a residual material from Maison Alivon.

The contrast of shapes and colours is astonishing, both up close and from afar. The nugget, reminiscent of raw gold, is an eye-catcher and an invitation to take a closer look at this meeting of our shared passions.

Miroir Pépite

Reflets d’écume mirror x Frédérique Tilly

The Reflets d’écume mirror is the result of a combination of materials and techniques developed by Maison Alivon and Frédérique Tilly, an art bronzier. Bronze and brass are brought together through a subtle blend of texture and patina.

The bronze puddles and nuggets with their organic reflections and textures are reminiscent of the sea and the foam that settles on it.
The mirror, mounted on a patinated brass plate with polished edges, takes us back to the earth and its colourful nuances.

Osmose x Salomé Cousseau

Marion Saussier and Salomé Cousseau are both fascinated by the possibilities of metal and bronze coming together in their favourite materials: wood and bronze.

Small bronze wings adorned with garnets add a touch of bright light to the warmth and roundness of Salomé’s walnut wood sculptures.

Signé chaos x Interracotta

Marion Saussier and Françoise Bergaglia have worked together to create 5 unique paintings numbered 1 to 5, each consisting of a slab of anthracite stoneware modelled and engraved by hand in the cool of the process, into which a bronze cartouche cast from Maison Alivon workshop memory prints is set.

It was a fastidious job that required numerous trials and firings to achieve this precious result.

Weaving confidence x Marie Drouet

Wicker meets bronze, mineral meets plant, water meets fire.

Marion Saussier and Marie Drouet have come up with this jewel of a monumental wall, made of two materials that are completely at odds with each other. A Bouyricou woven from raw wicker from the Haute-Marne region, incorporating a gilded bronze spiral from Maison Alivon’s workshop memories.
